Rike Frank

lives and works in Berlin

Rike Frank is a curator for contemporary art and film and teaches as Associated Professor of Exhibition Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo. In 2012/2013 she co-curated the exhibition and research project "Textiles: Open Letter", and among others "Abstractions, Textiles, Art" (Museum Abteiberg, Mönchengladbach) and 2012 the solo exhibition of works by Friedl vom Gröller (HGB Leipzig).

She was project director of documenta 12 (Kassel), co-curated (together with Anders Kreuger and Astrid Wege) the European Kunsthalle (Cologne) and 2009/2010 the programme at Ludlow 38, New York. 2001–2005 she was a curator at the Secession (Vienna), where she realized solo exhibitions and monographs with Henrik Olesen, Silvia Kolbowski, Henrik Hakansson, Ines Doujak, Josephine Pryde, Mary Heilman, Michael Beutler, Jeroen de Rijke/Willem de Rooij, Christopher Williams, Carola Dertnig, Michael Krebber and Minvera Cuevas.

She edited several books, among others „Constanze Ruhm. Coming Attractions” (2012), „Sketches of Universal History. Compiled from Several Authors by Sarah Pierce“ (2013) and „Timing – On the Temporal Dimension of Exhibiting“ (in collaboration with Cultures of Curating, Leipzig, 2014).
