Christiane Meyer-Stoll

b. in Essen (DE) in 1963, lives and works in Vaduz (LI)

Christiane Meyer-Stoll has been curator at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein since 2000. One focus of her work is the research on positions of 1960s’ art, with special emphasis on contemporary historical sources (oral history). She has curated exhibitions on Fred Sandback (2006) and Arte Povera (1997, 2010), among others.

In 2010 she was awarded the first “Justus Bier Curators Prize” for the exhibition and publication „Rolf Ricke Collection: A Document of the Times“.

Being thrilled by the radical work of Bill Bollinger, she curated in 2011/12 an exhibition of this long forgotten artist. The retrospective was on show at the SculptureCenter, New York, in summer 2012, after being held at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, at ZKM – Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, Karlsruhe, and at The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh.

Another focus of her work lays on conceiving and organising the first comprehensive museum exhibitions accompanied by a major publication for pioneering young artists such as Rita McBride (2002), Fabian Marcaccio (2004), Matti Braun (2009) and Bojan Sarcevic (2012). Group exhibitions curated by Christiane Meyer-Stoll often focus on fundamental issues, such as migration, body and mind or humor.
